Mixing prints always seems like it would be a bad idea, too much going on and major clashing issues ahoy! but these can sometimes be a good thing, cue Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler and Dolce & Gabbana. Most of these images mix a striped pattern with a floral or aztec so I think the key is to use one simple(ish) stripe or checked pattern with a more intricate one.
