Isle of Skye North End Map for They Draw & Travel

I love exploring the Isle of Skye and have spent quite a bit of time on the North end of the Island, so created this map for They Draw & Travel featuring a few of my favourite places to visit.

Skye has some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, with dramatic coastlines, coral beaches and rugged mountains. There's always whales, seals and an abundance of birds to spot and as it's known as the Misty Isle, you have to be patient and may get wet, which is all part of the fun!

Jerwood Drawing Prize Artist Directory

I was just looking into where the Jerwood Drawing Prize is touring this year (which I can't seem to find out about!?) and they've made a new Artist Directory and I'm in it as I was in the 2007 exhibition (can't believe it was 4 yrs ago!) with my drawing 'Map Circle'.

Cardiff for They Draw & Travel

Cardiff map

Here's the final version of the sneak peek I shared a few days ago. It's a map of Cardiff/Caerdydd, Wales, UK for the great new spin of site to They Draw and Cook (which I did this pizza recipe for) called They Draw and Travel where artists illustrate a map about their favourite places to travel to.

Here's a larger version of it featured on the site where there's loads of others, I want to go everywhere but here's some of my favourites: Kamakura, Japan, Pittsfield, USA, and Prague, Czech Republic. Go join in, where will you travel to?

—UPDATE: It's now available to buy as a print over on imagekind

Map Where I Belong

This is my map for the Make Maps project, by adam hayes, where you have to create a map where you belong. I found it quite difficult to come up with because a lot of the time I feel as if I'm on the outside of everything, just being swept along and I belong nowhere, but then again maybe I belong everywhere, maybe wherever I am, I belong. So this map shows all the countries I've ever been too filled in with dots (I love dots and circles and maps!) and small images of memories and experiences of those places. Where do you belong? Go take part!

Blast from the Past: Map Circle

Here's a blast from the past: 'Map Circle' which was exhibited and sold in the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2007. I haven't got my own photo of it so have had to scan in the photo from the catalogue. I'm really into my map drawing series again, I love it when you think something's over and yet it keeps coming back to you, you can't get away from it and it can't get away from you!
